Club Xarama (=The Dawn) – A legend of Greek music scene

Like every other city of the world Athens had (and still has) its own music scene. “Rebetika” and “Laika” were the most popular kinds of music. Xarama was a legendary club in Kesariani, a must in the 70s and 80s. Plain décor characterized the club that attracted all kinds of people. Tsitsanis, a legend of rebetika and other types of Greek music, was the center of attraction for over 15 years. Other big names of Greek music spent time there such as Sotiria Bellou, Mosxoliou, Alexiou, Mariza Koch. I remember people talking about the club although I was young to be there.
